Massage / Bath Oils Recipes
PLEASE NOTE: One needs to be cautious, essential oils used must be of the best quality, come from healthy plants and not be tainted. Authentic essential oils are comprised of pure natural substances that don't cause side effects, since the human body recognises them and uses as many as are needed, excreting the rest. Tainted oils (fragrance oils) mixed with chemical substances are recognised as foreign substances and are handled by the body as germs, causing allergic reactions and side effects. Essential oils are NOT to be taken orally! Be careful around the eyes area! I would suggest that you use Grapeseed Oil as your base (carrier oil) for these recipes. Grapeseed Oil has the highest content of Anti-oxydant, higher that Vitamin A. Containing a powerful concentration of vitamin E alpha, grapeseed oil rejuvenates damaged skin. Its slight astringency helps tighten and tone skin. Grapeseed Oil is the least expensive of the base (vegetal) oils, penetrates rapidly, does not leave a greasy feeling and do not stain sheets! Good all around carrier oil. Bath and massage oils are made by adding essential oils to vegetable carrier oil bases. The ratio is one teaspoon (60 drops) of essential oils to 4 ounces of carrier oil. Use amber or cobalt blue glass for your oils and keep out of direct light. Do not store in plastic bottles.
